I’ve been looking for good quality, glass meal prep containers and have finally found ones I love! One of my absolute favorite kitchen brands is Pyrex so I was elated to find that they offer glass meal prep containers with two compartments. Here’s some photos of the unboxing of my new Pyrex Meal Box glass meal prep containers.
Pyrex Meal Box review
Pyrex offers these glass meal prep containers under the title “Meal Box“. They advertise that these “Keep. Food. Separate.” I’ve found them in two sizes at Walmart.com:
Why choose glass meal prep containers?
There are several reasons to choose glass over plastic containers.
Glass doesn’t leach chemicals
I choose to use glass meal prep containers as often as possible. I’m wary of putting hot food into plastic meal prep containers which is one reason I love these. I can simply place food that I’ve just cooked directly into the container without worrying about plastic chemicals leaching into the food.
Easily reheat food in the oven with glass containers
Another reason I choose glass meal prep storage items is because they allow me to easily reheat food in my oven. With a Pyrex glass meal prep container I can simply take my container out of the fridge, remove the lid, and place it right into a hot oven to reheat.
Save time dishwashing
Being able to reheat food in the same container in the oven not only saves time, it also saves me from washing extra dishes. This makes reheating food a no brainer because it means I don’t have to transfer food to a second container.
Where to buy Pyrex glass meal prep containers with 2 compartments
Pyrex sells these meal prep storage containers at Walmart.com. I liked these containers so much that after my first purchase, I made another purchase just several days later.

If you plan to pack your lunches for work each week, I suggest purchasing enough containers to prep all your lunches at one time. Then, place these meals into the containers in the fridge for easy grab-and-go throughout the week.
The great thing is that Walmart sells these containers as a 2-pack which makes this easy to buy.

Pack your lunch for work with Pyrex
Recently, I took a lunch break at the beach and took my 3.4 cup Pyrex Meal Box with me. I also prepped my daughter’s lunch at the same time in the smaller 2.1 cup Meal Prep Box.
Here’s some photos of what I packed us both for lunch in these Pyrex Meal Boxes with a beautiful beach view in the background.
This day I packed for lunch:
- Kale, Bean, Corn and Avocado Salad
- Pickles
- Carrots
I also packed a smaller round glass container with chopped grapefruit and brazil nuts.
I placed the pickles and carrots together in the small compartment. I assembled my oil-free vegan salad in the large compartment. This salad was so easy to prepare I barely had to use my knife and cutting board.
To prepare this vegan lunch box, I simply:
- Steamed the kale and placed it into the Meal Prep Box.
- Then topped it with some frozen organic corn and organic white beans, both from Trader Joe’s.
- Then I sprinkled some hemp seeds on top and a little bit of rice vinegar for the dressing.
The containers didn’t leak at all and kept the food separate in the container. This was great because my daughter prefers the food to stay separate.
